Run structured research workflows: open-ended exploration of topics, side-by-side comparison of tools or vendors, and verification of claims by decomposing them into independently checked facts.
These agents are adapted from upstream open-source projects under the MIT
Use this agent when you need comprehensive research across multiple sources with synthesis of findings into actionable insights, trend identification, and detailed reporting.
Trigger when user says: "compare libs", "compare frameworks", "/empire-research:compare", "evaluate options", "side by side", "head to head", "X vs Y", "which is better", "tooling comparison", "weigh these options", "decide between these". Closed comparison of tools, libraries, frameworks, vendors, or architectural choices — NOT competitors (use `/empire-product:recon`). User has a known option set; produces a side-by-side matrix on user-defined dimensions and recommends a winner. Findings stay local — never posted externally.
Investigate complex claims: decompose into atomic verifiable components, resolve vague entities, verify each independently, separate confirmed facts from narrative interpretation. Use to fact-check complex claims, investigate narratives mixing fact with interpretation, or when a claim bundles multiple assertions. Trigger phrases: "investigate this claim", "fact-check this", "is this true", "decompose this narrative", "viral content check", "trace this claim", "/empire-research:dissect". Findings stay local — never post to GitHub.
Trigger when user says: "explore options", "what could we do for X", "research approaches", "/empire-research:explore", "investigate approaches", "spawn research team", "what are the options", "options analysis", "explore solutions", "have the team explore". Open-ended exploration: shallow scan enumerates 3–5 candidate approaches, user picks subset to deep-dive, parallel research per approach, consolidated comparison with recommended direction. Findings stay local — never posted externally.

Claude Code skills that staff your one-person company.
You're the CEO. You're also QA, support, and the intern who fetches coffee. The skills handle everyone else: a coder, a reviewer, a researcher, a PR scribe, a pitch writer, and a parallel-branch wrangler. Solo on paper. Crewed in practice.

/empire-rules:sync-rulespatches your globalCLAUDE.mdwith opionated instructions on how to work with agents in parallel.
| Plugin | What it does |
|---|---|
empire | Meta bundle. Installs empire-git, empire-dev, empire-research, and empire-product together. |
empire-git | Git workflow: parallel worktree lifecycle (open, close, merge, list, cleanup, help) and canonical pr-description templating. |
empire-dev | Code team-review, engineering diagnostics (shape, weigh, slice), plus 11 bundled dev subagents (generalist review, paradigms, domain experts). |
empire-research | Open-ended explore, closed compare, and claim-investigation dissect skills with workflow-backed parallel agent dispatch and consolidated reports. |
empire-product | Product comms and intelligence: pitch, vet, recon, mint, distill, probe. Three bundled subagents. |
empire-visual | Visual-first comms: a visual-first output style + on-demand visualize skill for terminal-native ASCII diagrams, flowcharts, state machines, tables. |
empire-rules | Utility: /empire-rules:sync-rules reconciles per-plugin routing snippets into the project's AGENTS.md. Auto-installed as a dependency. |
[!TIP] Each plugin README documents its skills and bundled agents in detail, with a per-skill flow diagram. Click any plugin name above for the breakdown.
Plugins that pair well with empire:
superpowers@claude-plugins-official — discipline skills (TDD, debugging, brainstorming, planning, requesting code review). Pairs with empire-git for the commit/PR loop and with empire-dev for review rigor.
/plugin install superpowers@claude-plugins-official
voltagent-lang@voltagent-subagents — language-specialist subagents (TypeScript, Python, Rust, Go, Swift, Kotlin, and more). empire-dev:team-review auto-discovers them and dispatches the right specialist per file when present.
/plugin marketplace add VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents
/plugin install voltagent-lang@voltagent-subagents
wshobson/agents — curated collection of language and domain specialist subagents. Same role as voltagent-lang; empire-dev:team-review auto-discovers whichever is installed.
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents

npx claudepluginhub marcoskichel/empire --plugin empire-researchProduct intelligence: elevator pitches (pitch), idea pressure-testing (vet), competitor mapping (recon), deck generation (deck), and naming (mint). Bundles three fallback subagents.
Visual-first communication: a 'visual-first' output style that leads every answer with a diagram, table, or tree, plus an on-demand visualize skill for terminal-native ASCII architecture, flowcharts, state machines, and comparison tables. Grounded in dual-coding and multimedia-learning research.
Sync hand-authored skill-routing rules from installed empire-* plugins into a target rules file (project AGENTS.md or user-global ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md).
Git workflow skills for solo founders: worktree lifecycle and PR description templating.
Development collaboration: autonomous task-to-PR driver (handoff), parallel specialist code review (team-review), socratic PR review (socratic-pr-review), plus pre-implementation diagnostics — cognitive audit (probe), requirements (distill), system design (shape), architecture decisions (weigh), task decomposition (slice) — and 11 bundled dev subagents.
