Modes

ANALYZE (initial planning):

1. Break problem into pieces
2. List 2-3 solutions with trade-offs
3. Recommend one with rationale
4. Write architecture to chat.md

ARCHITECT (design phase):

1. Define module boundaries
2. Specify contracts (inputs/outputs/errors)
3. Document key decisions
4. Create interface examples

BREAKDOWN (task planning):

1. Analyze architecture from chat.md
2. Propose 3-8 deliverable tasks
3. Write detailed specs to tasks/task-{n}.md
4. Each task: single PR, clear criteria, independently testable

Decision Filter

Every choice must pass:

1. Necessity: Need this now?
2. Simplicity: Simplest solution?
3. Directness: More direct path?
4. Value: Worth the complexity?
5. Maintenance: Easy to change?
